Employment.  Financial Capability. Health and Wellness.

Homelessness has many causes and housing stability involves many solutions, personalized to fit the needs of each family.

The Just Neighbors Stabilization Program provides services to promote housing stability and self sufficiency.  The program utilizes a holistic and strengths-based approach when working with families returning to stable housing. In addition, this work has an intentional focus and support for young children and their emotional, physical, and behavioral successes to be ready for and succeed in school.

Engagement with families is a progressive independence approach to provide support for up to twelve months. Phase I of the model begins when the family moves home from a housing crisis. The intensity of assistance decreases in Phase II and III, which allows the family to be able to grow in self-sufficiency.

Upon moving home, families meet  with the Stabilization Coordinator and discuss goals, dreams, and needs. The family and the coordinator will complete the  Path to Success using the Economic Mobility Bridge assessment and begin the goal setting process.

Families may also matched with a "Just Neighbors Team"  to provide support and encouragement as well as build community.  Teams include a Team Lead who is the liaison between the Stabilization Coach, family and the team and 2-3  team members who work support families in reaching their goals and build community.

To encourage engagement, goal progress, and support with basic needs, families can earn Ambition Points for participation. Ambition Points are earned  for connecting with the community and meeting personal set goals. These can be spent for household items, gift cards, basic needs supplies, or saved for a fun family activity.

path to success revised 6.20.25.png

Our goal is not simply getting families into housing; it is keeping them in housing.

Key to this is identifying needs specific to those in our community and tapping into the diverse resources our volunteer pool and partnerships provide. The result is families no longer at risk of homelessness.

And, even more importantly, through building a community of belonging , Family Promise of Missoula creates the network for security, stability and community that encourages parents and their children to aspire to the future every child deserves.
